Trained as a graphic designer and visual artist, I have often worked collaboratively with photographers and always appreciated their craft and fresh eye. No other art requires us to be right there, ready to see, at an exact moment.
My father, Russell Davis, was an engineer and like many of my favorite people, perpetually curious and interested in just about everything. The technical and creative elements of photography excited him and he introduced me to cameras and my first photography classes. We had at least two photo dates a year, always one of them on Father’s Day. We would pick a site and spend the day out together. Here we are together on a break in our first class together at Maine Media Workshops.
For me, photography is an opportunity to observe and share what I see.
